#purpleforlupus Product Prices and Reviews

Hey guys!  I hope you enjoyed my first post about the products in my #purpleforlupus Instagram tag.  We all love to pair prices with reviews, to make sure the product’s quality fits the price tag.  Here is a list of prices and reviews for each product, along with a link of where you can find them!

That purple cosmetic bag is brand new from Ulta, it's a 15pc bag and it was their recent gift with purchase. I have opened it but haven't played with any of the products inside yet! The bag is beautiful and I actually used it as my make-up bag for my purse yesterday!

e.l.f. Studio HD Lifting Concealer – Balancing - $3.00
http://www.eyeslipsface.com/studio/face/concealer/hd_lifting_concealer
I LOVE this concealer. I have it in 4 colors and I love each color for their intended purpose. The purple color, Balancing, is good for brightening dull skin, or neutralizing yellow/sallow skin tones. Elf’s products are AMAZING for the price. Let me say that again, absolutely AMAZING. I would easily pay 10 times what I pay for most of their products. They are known to be dupes of a lot of high end products, and I would say they come pretty darn close. I will focus on these dupes when I can buy the higher end items I need to take photos of the comparisons.    Elf has 50% off sales a few times a year and I always LOAD UP whenever I see these sales.

e.l.f. Studio Mineral Infused Face Primer - Brightening Lavender - $6.00
Just like the concealer, this product is good for brightening dull skin and neutralizing yellow/sallow skin tones. These primers are dupes for Smashbox’s primers, in both their consistency and quality.  I own 2 of the Smashbox primers but I am going to purchase more to compare to my elf primers to give you a better comparison, once I do the dupes post.  I like this primer a lot, it really gives my foundation a solid base and does make it last longer. This is an amazing price for such a good product.

Revlon Photo Ready Color Correcting Primer - $10-$20, depends on where you find it
Revlon doesn’t make this product anymore, they replaced it with the “Perfecting Primer”. I did find it on Amazon though (http://www.amazon.com/REVLON-Photoready-Color-Correcting-Primer/dp/B006OZF398).  I really do like this primer though, and I used to use it all the time before I had a little money to spend on better quality primers.

Maybelline Baby Lips - Beam of Blush, Yummy Plummy, Peach Kiss, Berry Bomb - $4-$5.
I am obsessed with Baby Lips.  I own almost every single one they make.  I buy mine at Ulta when they have a buy one get one deal, and at Target when I see one that is new or limited edition. They are so smooth and feel great on the lips, and they smell AMAZING. It’s a very sheer wash of color with some awesome lip benefits.

$20 is a good price for a high end mascara like this. It feels nice and light on the lashes and still gives me a lot of length and holds a good curl.  It doesn’t flake, but it does seem to wear off the ends of my lashes after about 6-7 hours.  Overall it’s not a bad mascara for the price, but I would rather spend the money on Smashbox or Urban Decay mascaras.

Ulta Automatic Eyeliner - $8.00
I like Ulta’s retractable eyeliners. They go on smoothly and last surprisingly longer than I thought they would, as long as I have a primer on my lid.  I own several colors from them because I buy them during their half off sales. I wouldn’t pay $8 for them but I will pay $4 when they’re on sale so I can buy a few and keep them in my collection for when I want to play with some colored liners.

Physician’s Formula Eyeliner (brown eyes trio) - $12.00
I got this eyeliner trio at Target because it was on clearance. They have different trios for certain eye colors and since my eyes are brown, I figured I’d give it a shot, especially when it was on clearance for like $4. The colors are awesome but they don’t go on too smoothly unless I use the lighter trick and melt them a little.  Not bad when you can find them on sale though.

Urban Decay Chill Makeup Setting Spray - $30
This is one of my all-time favorite products EVER.  I would spend the money for this product again and again. If UD ever discontinues it, I would buy tons of it to keep on hand.  This is an amazing setting spray. It is cooling and hydrating and is best to use all year round honestly, because the cooling aspect is great in the summer and the hydrating quality is awesome for winter. It sprays nicely and doesn’t some out in a jet stream like other sprays may do. It keeps my makeup looking fresh for hours.  It’s one of my staples for my makeup routine and I use it whether I’m going out and need a fancy makeup look, or just a simple BB cream look for light days.

Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray - $30 http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=xlsImpprod4930049
This spray is a little longer-lasting than the Chill setting spray, and you can tell the difference once it dries. It will feel a little stiff at first, but after about 5 minutes it will feel fine.  I used to call this my “face hairspray” whenever my husband used to ask me what it was. Now he knows exactly what it is because he sees me use it every time I do my makeup!  I will rotate between this and Chill, depending on what I need my makeup to do for me, but I mostly use this for going out when I my makeup to last all day or all night.  I used to get this in a 2 pack at Ulta for $40 which was such a great deal, but I can’t find the 2 pack anymore but I will still spend the money to buy it when I need it.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion - $20.00
I love love LOVE this eyeshadow primer. It applies very smoothly and gets nice and sticky when it dries. It keeps my eyeshadow lasting for hours and hours until I come home to take my makeup off. This product is so worth the money and unfortunately I’m running out, so I’m gonna have to get more soon!

EOS Lip Balm - Passion Fruit $3-$4
I get my EOS balms at a few different places. I have gotten some from Ulta, some from Target, and some from Amazon.  They are amazing!  They all smell sooo good and feel so nice on the lips. Sometimes I will put them on under my Vaseline for an overnight lip soak, just to give my lips a little extra scent.  I also like to use this under certain lipsticks, because some lipsticks can be drying, but let’s face it:  if the color is on point, then we just need to find a way to make it work, right?!?

NYX Hot Singles eye shadows - Burlesque, Epic  - $4.50
I love NYX products, and for the price, you really can’t beat it.  I have a lot of their products and these eyeshadows are great!  They are very pigmented and smooth, and go on the lid well and blend very nicely. Pick up a few of these, you won’t be disappointed.

Ulta eyeshadows - Grace, Havannah Nights - $7.00
http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=xlsImpprod3570089#
These eyeshadows are not bad for the price IF you can get them during a sale. They are pigmented, not very pigmented, but pigmented enough to where you can make them work with a little lid primer and some Fix Plus on your brush. They don't last very long but they go on smoothly and aren't bad if you're wearing them for a short period of time.

e.l.f. Smudge Pot - Poppin Party - $3.00
http://www.eyeslipsface.com/elf/eyes/eyeshadow/smudge_pot
I am in love with elf smudge pots!   They are definitely dupes for MAC paint pots. They go on nice and creamy, the colors are flattering for any eye color, and they last for hours and hours. For 3 bucks a piece, you can get all the colors you want. They definitely give MAC paint pots a run for their money!

Urban Decay eye shadow - Sin - $18

http://www.sephora.com/eyeshadow-P309813?skuId=1403005
I love this eyeshadow. It's a beautiful champagne color with a touch of pink and a little bit of shimmer but not enough shimmer to make it unwearable or remind you of your Jr High eyeshadows. It's a universal color that you can wear any time. It can be an all-over lid color for the day or you can smoke it out for a night look. It goes on very smoothly and lasts forever with the UD Eyeshadow Primer. It's also so pigmented that you don't need to use a lot to get a nice wash of color so you can feel ok spending $18.00 on an eyeshadow because it's going to last you for a long time. I've had mine since November and it still looks barely used!

NYX Butter Gloss - Devil's Food Cake $4.99
http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=xlsImpprod5050009
Let me tell you something about NYX lip products, especially the Butter Glosses and the Matte Lip Creams.  For the price, they are unbelievably amazing quality and they smell INCREDIBLE! I have been collecting them for years now and I will never stop purchasing them. Any time they come out with new colors, I buy as fast as I possibly can. I would absolutely pay double this price for these lippies. They go on the lips nice and smoothly, not too thin and not too thick, and give you an excellent wash of color. They are so worth more than the 5 bucks they cost!

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream - Addis Ababa - $5.99
http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=xlsImpprod3020045
These lip creams are absolutely amazing. I say amazing a lot when it comes to NYX, but that's because they really ARE amazing products for such a great price point.  These matte lip creams go on sooo smooth and velvety, and dry into a beautiful matte finish. They are true to color and would look even better with lip liner underneath.  I will say, however, that you should make sure your lips are hydrated and maybe coated with an EOS balm or something before applying these lip creams. It just gives them that nice base to work with so they don't settle into the lines of your lips. These are so worth the money and I have tons of them and will keep buying more.

Michael Kors Lip Luster - Show Stopper
http://www1.macys.com/shop/product/michael-kors-collection-lip-luster-set?ID=1716228&CategoryID=30076#fn=sp%3D1%26spc%3D17%26kws%3Dmichael%20kors%20lip%26slotId%3D4
These lip listers are supposedly $24 each, but I got this color in a limited edition 3pc holiday set on Black Friday for $10 from Macy's website (I do A LOT of makeup shopping on Black Friday).  This color is a very nice deep purple with tiny gold reflects. It's a gorgeous holiday color and the quality is awesome. It goes on very nicely and it's too thick or too thin, and has a very nice smell to it as well! These are nice little glosses!

Essie nail polish - Go Ginza - $8.50
http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=xlsImpprod1320170
Ulta doesn't have this color, and I don't think it's easy to find anymore. I got mine like 4 years ago at Target. It's a beautiful pastel lavender color, perfect for spring and summer. It reminds me of Easter and would be perfect around that time of year. Essie's nail polishes are amazing quality with great colors, and will last for about a week on the nails with the right top coat. So worth the money!

OPI nail polishes - You're such A Budapest (dark),  Vant To Bite My Neck? (light) - $8-9
I love both of these polishes. I have a lot of OPI polishes and they are great quality with a great color selection. They stand up to chips just a little better than Essie's polish, but to me that's ok because I don't mind doing touch ups every few days.  They are both from their Euro Centrale collection (http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=xlsImpprod5180219). I actually found them at TJ Maxx!  You can find all kinds of things at stores like TJ Maxx and Homegoods. I found some Philosophy stuff at Homegoods a few weeks ago!

e.l.f. Nail Polish Mini - Lilac (part of a set) - $3
http://www.eyeslipsface.com/elf/nails/elf_nail_polish/3-piece_nail_polish_set
I got this as part of a 3pc set called Vacation Trio. I haven't worn it yet but I like the color and I have other elf polishes that I like so I'm sure I'll like this one. They aren't as small as other mini nail polishes so they are well worth the $1 a piece!

Michael Kors Nail Polish - Bossa Nova
http://www1.macys.com/shop/product/michael-kors-collection-nail-lacquer-set?ID=1716178&CategoryID=30076#fn=sp%3D1%26spc%3D7%26kws%3Dmichael%20kors%20nail%26slotId%3D3
This is another item that was part of a limited edition holiday set that cost me $10 on Black Friday. It's a 3pc nail polish set with beautiful colors!  This color is a very pretty plum color with a brown undertone and it's pretty perfect for fall/winter. It has a bit of a sheen to it that makes it even better for the holidays! I haven't worn it yet so I honestly can't say anything about how it wears, but it is a beautiful color that I can see myself wearing once Fall gets here.

Pond's Evening Soothe Wet Cleansing Towelettes - $4-$6 (depending on where you get them)
I get mine at Target or sometimes I will get them at Soap.com (http://www.soap.com/p/ponds-evening-soothe-wet-cleansing-towelettes-750155?qid=785511388831561038&sr=1-2), because I always have coupons to use! These towelettes are amazing for cleaning your face and leaving it sooo soft and not too dry. They also smell so so SO good!  I use them at night when I want to take my makeup off. One towelette will do my whole face (I leave my eye makeup on because I don't care if it sleep with it or not), and will still be a little wet when I'm done!  You get 30 in a package and if you can find them on sale then it's an even better deal!!
