Elf (http://www.eyeslipsface.com/) is a brand that is super cheap and has been around for years and years, but lately I feel like they have really stepped their game up. Their Studio line is especially impressive, but some products in their Essentials line are still pretty good for the price! You can buy their products on their website or at Target, and sometimes you'll find their stuff in other stores that may surprise you! For example, my hubby went to BJs the other day to pick up a few things, and he picked up a couple of surprises for me (he really is amazing), and I was so excited to see that he found these and thought to get them for me!
The blue one was opened immediately because it has lipsticks and glosses and I couldn't wait to swatch them, but the lid looked just like the lid on the pink one. They are both called elf Color Wheels and I think they are a BJs exclusive because I've never seen anything like these anywhere else. The pink one contains 15 nail polishes and the blue one contains 8 lip glosses and 7 lipsticks. Hubs said they were $9.00 each, and they each contain 15 pieces. So $18.00 for 30 pieces (when they're usually $1-2 each) is an insane bargain! The only bummer is that there are no color names on any of the products.
I mainly want to show the blue set today because OH MY GOD these lipsticks are amazing! First off, let me say that I love the expensive stuff just as much as the next person. I have spent $20-$30 on lipsticks and yes I do them love dearly. But being introduced to elf's lipstick was like finding a diamond in the rough. I really just need you guys to check them out, seriously. So anyway, every time I'm on elf's website, I avoid the $1 lipsticks because I love the Studio Moisturizing lipsticks (http://www.eyeslipsface.com/studio/lips/lip_stick/moisturizing_lipstick) (I proudly own every color) and I wasn't sure about the Essential Lipsticks (http://www.eyeslipsface.com/elf/lips/lip_stick/lipstick) because they're only $1 so I was always like "eh, maybe later". I just wasn't sure, but I was still curious. So when Hubs brought home this set for me, I was so excited to finally be able to try them. I swatched them immediately and...
I was blown away!! They may not be the world's best lipsticks, but for $1, I could not believe what I had just swatched. First of all, they smell sooo good. Smell is like a #1 thing for me in lip products. You can have the best lipstick in the world but if it smells bad, I'm not going anywhere near it. Secondly, they are soo creamy and pigmented and the colors are SO wearable. Other cheap lipsticks are horrible in every sense. They smell bad, they are sticky and the colors are just not good. But these are amazing. The top 2 colors may look the same, but the top color has a little more pink in it and the second color is a truly wearable red. My favorite is the coral color (3rd from the bottom) and the pink underneath it. These are perfect for spring and summer! I wish I knew the names of the colors but there were no color names anywhere on the packaging. I went to elf's website to try and see if I could find the color names but I was a little confused because I couldn't pair any of these swatches to the colors on the site. These may be colors that can only be found in this particular set. Either way, they are amazing and you need to seek out this set! Way to go, elf!
